Open Water Diver

In the Open Water Diver course, your Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You will begin in our indoor custom-built salt-water pool and progress to the open water (ocean, lake, quarry, etc.). Earning your Open Water Diver certification is just the beginning. As a certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure, and unfathomable tranquility awaits you. As you begin your adventure and gain experience through continuing education, your opportunities are truly endless.

What Will I Need?
For your Open Water course you will need to provide your own personal gear, consisting of mask, snorkel, boots fins. If you do not own your own gear, students of the London Scuba Centre will receive a 10% discount on any gear purchased for the course. Some of the other benefits of purchasing gear from the London Scuba Centre is the convenience of exchange during the course if the gear does not fit properly.
What Will I Do?
After signing up for the course, you’ll receive your Student Material Package or On-Line Code#. Now you are ready to begin learning in the comfort of your own home! The open water manual consists of 5 chapters, each one followed by a Knowledge Review to be completed prior to each class. Whether you choose the Accelerated Course or Basic Course the in-class sessions will be dedicated to the instruction and review of these chapters. Once your instructor has determined that you have a full understanding of each chapter, it’s time to go Diving! If you choose our Online Course there will be a consultation session and then off to the pool. Each pool session will introduce a new set of skills required to become an Open Water Diver. With the convenience of our indoor, saltwater pool just steps away from the classroom, you’ll have plenty of pool time to practice and perfect the skills you’ve learned.
What's Next?
To complete your certification, you will be required to perform the skills you’ve mastered in the pool in an Open Water Environment through five Open Water Dives. The London Scuba Centre schedules Open Water weekends throughout the dive season, visiting some of our favorite dive destinations. Where will your adventures take you?
